An expanded kitchen with brickwork and tile roof to match the existing house. This one has an amazing view!

Addition and Kitchen Expansion of a 1940s Brick View Home

There was little room for expansion due to the property setbacks, but a small addition to the kitchen wing accomplished a lot.  There was a  back entry that had been used only for taking out the trash next to the front entry. We removed the door, eliminating the confusion of two entries next to one another, and located a new eating nook in the corner of the new addition. The corner windows allow for views back to the street and a friendlier approach to the front door.  We added a bay, bigger than the existing small bay, with the new red stove at the end of it.  New windows fill up the back to open the amazing views of the Puget Sound.
